You know those dreams that are so good it’s hard to wake up? Well, today I lived one — out at sea with my mates. The vibe was unreal! So much life in the water, so many different species… but what I enjoyed the most was being with my crew — true sport fishing mates. I’ve always said: a great fishing trip doesn’t need much, just the right mates.

@wickedfrothin told me to try my shot and crossed paths with an amberjack. What a fight! I hadn’t felt that rush in a long time.

Big thanks to everyone who follows this crazy guy I am.

About this day: Basically, all that needed to be done was test the electrical system and boat. As we are currently in the tuna season, I have elected to utilize only three fishing rods. I was alone, so I didn't want to take too many chances. After 2 hours i decided to return to the marina, creating the route made on autopilot. I was really enjoying the autopilot so i took a sandwich to eat and relaxed and gave the first bite, in the half of my second bite I just heard that alarm that we all love.

I couldn't believe it. Short corner is a rapala! 💪💪
In 10 minutes the BYT was on the boat but In order not to damage the illustration. I decided to ask for help from the land.
I called and waited another 15 minutes, however the BYT swam side by side with the boat like a dog, after 3 more runs to the bottom. Impressive! Big Eye Tuna close to 100kgr.

My First Blue Marlin!
Unfortunately, the fish didn’t survive — and we don’t kill billfish intentionally, but this Marlin couldn’t handle such a long fight.
I wasn’t expecting a Blue Marlin; we were using lures for White Marlin.
The fight was a bit long because I was using a Penn Senator 6/0 on a small reel.
Weighing in at 283 pounds.

Finally got it! I managed to achieve every step of every goal and to continue to follow. I don't even tell you how much I dreamed about this project. since the age of 8 and still continue to learn from everyone. Now I'm going to do it and enjoy what I've been waiting for but!!! I wouldn't have achieved without the support of the women of my life.

"O Serrote" .

The top of the deck was fiberglassed but not the bottom so I had to remove all the deck it was wet wood.

After I had to turn the boat upside down and take care of the numerous blisters.

You can see on the pictures the water between the layers of the
fiberglass the underwater line is done.

The next step will be focusing on the inside of the boat.

From Paper to Fiberglass
Since September 2001, Serrote has been at sea — only coming out of the water for 1 or 2 weeks per year for a quick hull clean before heading back out.
Well… after 20 years in the water, this is the shape I found it in 😶 (osmosis already repaired).
I haven’t touched it since November 2022 🥲 but now it’s time to give it the attention it deserves.
Next step: bring it home.

"O Serrote" version 2.0
In this upgrade, the console was built entirely from scratch — a well-executed concept that managed to fit almost all the equipment, and in duplicate.
After more than 2,000 hours on the Yamaha, we switched to a Suzuki engine.

"Serrote" in version 1.1
The upgrade was to create a water-protected space on the old console for the electronic equipment.
In the second picture, notice the aluminum frame with acrylic, and on deck, the hole for the reading sonar. 🤌🤌
